The Lady of the Morning

As dawn approaches, drawing nigh
To steadily enlight the sky,
It blinks away each star, but one
Which, yet undaunted, stays to shine
And lead the way above the Earth
That will be followed by the sun.

The shortest night has ended thus,
As all nights ever, always must.
And so the sky now gently gleams
In radiant blue, the gown of dusk,
But, yet, the sun still hides from view
Allowing one to hold a dream.

For e'en the moon is gone away
To capture us 'tween night and day.
The only sign of light above,
Besides the endless, sky-blue ray,
Remains one star, one glowing light
Who calls herself the Goddess Love.

So, piercing now the glowing light,
And treating me with such a sight
Of timelessness, so calm and sweet,
The morning lady ends teh night
And tells my soul to learn of peace,
Preparing me the dawn to greet.

So, time returns again, at last.
Eternity, for now, has passed.
But always in my heart I'll hold
The mem'ry of this spell she cast:
The Lady Dawn, as I have shown,
Has given me a heart of gold.
